Important update 2017

Important Update

On 5 May 2017 Notices of Landowner Deposits under Section 15A(1) of the Commons Act 2006, were Posted on each of th Seven Sites. The reason for Newcastle Borough Council making these notices is not clear. These notices intend which bring to an end any period of recreational use of the land which was 'as of right', ie without secrecy, force or permission.Once such a statement is deposited with the commons registration authority (county or unitary council), local people have only one year in which to apply for village green status.

However applications for village green status have previous been made and are yet to be considered by Staffs. County Council.

NULBC have been asked for their resons for making the Landowner Deposits. See Seperate article for NULBC resonse.
